1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Keith Fisher, an individual doing business as ChoreHub ("ChoreHub," "we," "us"), based in Ohio, USA, governing your access to and use of chorehub.net and the ChoreHub application (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a household (parent/admin) account. The Service is intended to be used by adults on behalf of their family.
  • Child profiles within a household are created and controlled by the household's adult account holder — children do not independently register for or agree to these Terms.
  • You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any PINs set for child profiles, and for all activity that occurs under your household account, including activity by children using profiles you created.
  • You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

3. Nature of the service

ChoreHub is a chore-tracking and family-organization tool. It's important to understand what it is — and isn't:

  • ChoreHub tracks points, badges, streaks, and dollar amounts you assign to chores and bonus tasks. It is a record-keeping and communication tool only.
  • ChoreHub does not transfer, hold, or process any money between family members. If you promise your child an allowance or a cash bonus for a chore, you — not ChoreHub — are responsible for actually paying it. Marking a payout "paid" in the app is a record of your own representation that payment occurred; it is not a payment made by ChoreHub.
  • The Rewards Store reflects rewards and point costs that you, the parent, define and fulfill yourself. ChoreHub does not supply, ship, or guarantee any reward.
  • The Service is provided for personal, household use, not for commercial or institutional chore/task management.

4. Subscriptions & billing

  • ChoreHub offers a free tier and a paid "ChoreHub Plus" subscription tier with additional features, at the pricing displayed at checkout (currently billed monthly or annually).
  • Plus subscriptions are billed and administered by Paddle.com Market Limited, acting as the merchant of record for these transactions. Your purchase is subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled beforehand. You can cancel at any time from within the app or your Paddle-hosted customer portal.
  • Our refund and cancellation practices are described in the Return & Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.
  • We may change subscription pricing going forward; we'll give you reasonable notice before a price change takes effect on your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, abuse, or endanger any person, including a child
  • Upload content (including photos submitted for photo-proof chores) that is illegal, abusive, or that you don't have the right to share
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another household's account or data
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's normal operation, or attempt to bypass usage limits or subscription gating
  • Use the Service to collect or store data about children other than your own, except as enabled through a Trusted Household connection you've knowingly established

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you or your household members submit to the Service (such as photo-proof images, chore descriptions, and reward names). By submitting content, you grant ChoreHub a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for your household and any Trusted Household connection you approve. We don't use your family's photos or content for marketing, advertising, or any purpose outside operating the Service, without your separate consent.

7. Trusted Households

The Trusted Households feature lets a parent connect their household to another household so both can assign, view, and pay chores for specific, individually-approved children. This feature is entirely opt-in and parent-controlled: you choose which household to connect with, which children (if any) are visible to that connection, and you can terminate the connection at any time. ChoreHub is not responsible for the conduct of another household you choose to connect with — you're solely responsible for deciding who to trust with visibility into your child's activity.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, badge artwork, and underlying software, is owned by ChoreHub and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any right to use ChoreHub's name, logo, or branding beyond what's needed to use the Service normally.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T GUARANTEE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, AND WE AREN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR DECISIONS YOU MAKE ABOUT ALLOWANCE, REWARDS, OR PARENTING BASED ON DATA IN THE APP.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHOREHUB AND KEITH FISHER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, OR ALLOWANCE/REWARD DISPUTES BETWEEN FAMILY MEMBERS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100 USD.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ChoreHub harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit through your household account.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practicable. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

13. Dispute resolution & arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Informal resolution first

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.

Binding arbitration

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and ChoreHub agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

Class action waiver

You and ChoreHub agree that any arbitration or claim will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will proceed in court rather than arbitration.

30-day opt-out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] with your name and a clear statement that you wish to opt out, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If you opt out, all other parts of these Terms still apply, and any dispute will instead be resolved in the courts described in Governing law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent governed by the Federal Arbitration Act as to Section 13. For any dispute not subject to arbitration (including small-claims actions or claims by someone who has opted out of arbitration), you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Ohio.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
